Our practice uses the Q-Clear laser Laser which delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel. The vessel will then be reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will be redirected to deeper veins where it should be. We treat spider veins and smaller varicose veins.
The number of treatments necessary depends on the number, color, and size of the vessels being treated. During the consultation process you will be prescribed a treatment plan that will aim to give you the best result.
Most patients experience only mild discomfort much like a rubber band snapping. No local anesthesia or pain medication is required. Following the treatment, there is usually no pain to minimal discomfort.
The most common side effects are slight redness and swelling of the treated area lasting for less than 24 hours. Occasionally there may be bruising and, in rare cases, blistering may occur.
Results vary, but most patients experience significant improvement within two to six weeks of
treatment. With smaller vessels you may see immediate results. Final results may not be apparent
for several months.
