Podiatry Group of Georgia is looking for qualified medical assistants full and part time. We are an independent podiatry practice and are growing. We are currently expanding and need friendly , supportive, reliable member to join our team.
The Medical Assistant (MA) is a support care provider who functions under the direction of the physcian. The primary focus will be to promote a positive patient experience by partnering with the patient, family and other health care providers to provide excellence in customer service and assistance with the patient care and experience. The MA assists with performing basic patient care functions; i.e.X Rays, ambulation, vital signs, settign up for procedures, simple treatments, dressing changes, transporting supplies/equipment. Will be required to support clinical care by performing clerical functions including computer order entry, retrieval of data, maintaining unit supplies, transporting supplies/equipment, preparing and maintaining patient charts, providing customer service and acting as the central communication source on the office and other referral offices and other activities as necessary. The Medical Assistant must be able to work in a fast paced environment which requires multi-tasking activities and ongoing communication with the entire office. Must be able to perform under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful and helpful manner. Must be able to take direction from a variety of care providers. Must be organized with excellent communication skills. Must be able to autoclave and maintain equipment in the office.
Required Minimum Education
High School graduation (GED) successful completion of a Medical Assistant course or
the equivalent experience.
Required Minimum Certification
Must be a certified Medical Assistant in the State of Georgia, and BLS through the American Heart Association.
Required Minimum Skills
Working knowledge of Patient Care Technician techniques and practices in podiatry. Knowledge and skills in the application of the techniques and practices of the medical assitant. Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions and to maintain medical records and charts. Ability to operate a desktop computer. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, patients, families, and physicians.
